V.E.R.A. Furniture & Homewares celebrates the beauty and style of Mid Century to the 1980s. 

Relatively new to the scene we scour the west country and beyond offering carefully curated furniture and homewares inspired by unique finds and timeless mid-century design. Each piece is chosen for its quality, character, and enduring appeal, blending clean lines, natural materials, and thoughtful details. From handcrafted furniture to distinctive decorative accents, V.E.R.A. creates collections that bring warmth, individuality, and effortless style to modern living spaces.  

We are John & Dianne, trading as 506070’s Retro.  Based in the Bristol / Bath area, for more than a decade we have been trading at Vintage markets and fairs from Bristol to Birmingham, from Coventry to Cardiff, at multiple locations in London and now to Cornwall – plus other places in between.

Our passion is mid-century furniture, studio glass, lighting, W. German art pottery, starburst and other clocks, homeware, mirrors and all things Vintage and Retro from the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Italy, Belgium and other areas of the world where iconic designs are born.  But it must be something we like ourselves!

We curate and, where necessary, sympathetically restore items from G-Plan, Ercol, Nathan, Parker Knoll, Metamec, Sklo Union, Bay Keramik, Scheurich, D & B, as well as J & G Meakin, Carefree, Turnidge, Remploy, Whitefriars, Myers, Gorden Russell and Tavo to name but a few, bringing them to market in the best possible condition.

Meeting and engaging with customers who have similar tastes is what makes every Fair and Market a pleasure, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning customers to all future events we are trading at.

From years spent travelling the world, I developed a passion for collecting distinctive vintage objects… pieces discovered in markets, brocantes, and through chance encounters with people met along the way. Each piece was more than a souvenir; as to me it carried a story, a sense of place, and memory.

After settling back in the UK, I started Nuanced initially to share some of those finds. But it has since developed into a more permanent small business of carefully curated decorative objects and small furniture.  All of it based on my passion for the hunt of beauty and story.

I specialise in collectible 20th-century design, with a focus on pieces chosen not only for their patina, but also their rarity and presence . My sourcing spans the Arts and Crafts movement, Modernism, and mid-century design, along with Art Deco, vintage folk, and Indigenous art

I look for pieces that are well crafted and unique. I’ll never pass up on a good lamp, or chair, and enjoy seeking out the unexpected and whimsical. From time to time, I may even share pieces from my own personal obsession: rare and collectible Mexican Modernist silver décor.

We are Carol and Paul of Cornish Vintage and The Antique Chef. We started our business over 10 years ago out of a shared love for unique interiors.

Whether it be all things vintage, Midcentury, rustic or industrial, we like to mix things up.

What started out as a passion has now turned into our business. Buying vintage is truly sustainable and one of the finest forms of recycling.

We absolutely love sourcing and the thrill of finding those one off items. That takes us the length and breath of the UK and all over Europe. Basically we buy anything we like the look of!

I’m a professional furniture upcycler, specialising mostly in mid-century pieces alongside selling carefully-chosen vintage finds. 

In 2018, whilst in my 40’s and after a career in education, I went back to college to study Creative Interior Techniques at Writtle University which I absolutely loved. This was followed by further courses in upholstery and upcycling skills and I had found my niche. The business was created in 2022. Each new find tells a story of a life already lived and over time I found that I preferred the clean lines and neat shapes of furniture from the 1950s-1970s.

The starting point for the upcycling process is to search out  pieces of vintage furniture that are “structurally sound” yet “cosmetically challenged”. These are carefully prepped at my workshop before updating with high quality paints, carefully-chosen wallpaper and lots of varnish for durability.

Furniture and sustainability doesn’t have to be boring. From statement sideboards, to drinks trolleys, hallway benches, chest of drawers and side tables (and everything in between), find your one-of-a-kind sustainable, vintage and unique furniture with me..  It’s my mission to take unloved furniture and respectfully enhance it to give it a bright new future, creating exclusive and statement pieces of furniture for my customers’ homes and business and the aim is to make people ask “Wow, where did you get that?!”

& VNTG is all about finding good vintage furniture and getting it back to a place where it can be properly used and enjoyed again.

The focus is mainly mid century pieces – sideboards, chests, tables and storage – with an emphasis on well-made British and Danish pieces from the 1950s to 1970s. The kind of furniture that was made well in the first place and just needs a bit of care to bring it back.

Each piece is restored in-house, with tops typically stripped and oiled and everything else cleaned and revived, while keeping the character that comes with age. There’s no overcomplicating it – just solid, well-designed furniture that works.

Stock changes regularly depending on what turns up, but the aim is always the same: quality pieces, properly restored, ready to go again. These aren’t throwaway pieces – they’re built to last and built for everyday living.

Casta Blue specialises in well-designed mid-century and vintage furniture, with a particular focus on British, Danish and Scandinavian makers. At the core of the business is a belief that good design should last — and that well-made furniture deserves to be cared for, restored and lived with for generations.

Restoration is central to what we do. Many of the pieces we offer are carefully restored in-house, with an approach that respects original materials, proportions and character. The aim is not to over-finish, but to bring each piece back to a standard where it can be used and appreciated again. Alongside this, we also undertake restoration work for private clients across Cornwall, helping to extend the life of furniture that holds both quality and personal meaning.

Casta Blue is run by a husband-and-wife team from our shop in St Columb Major, on Cornwall’s north coast, where we also live. The business is intentionally kept small and hands-on, allowing us to focus on sourcing well-made pieces, restoring them properly, and offering furniture with long-term value rather than short-term appeal. Our collection is constantly evolving, with each piece chosen for its design, craftsmanship and presence.
